Anna these are beautiful photos. I love the bright red head of the woodpecker. Enjoy the 'stillness' as you watch nature in your back yard.
This is a Pileated Woodpecker and they can create quite the sound when calling or digging into trees for larva. Such a handsome bird. You are lucky to have them in your woods.
Isn't he beautiful- what a wonderful way to have the silence broken- xo Diana
Beautiful Anna. I love red headed woodpeckers!
so lovelyseems we are surrounded with a similar spirit ~
Beautiful pictures! Here we do not have snow at the moment and it is much too warm for january. But I am sure that winter will come back - and I am so longing for springtime and garden and flowers....Hugs, Monika
Beautiful... but cold!!We have had enough sunny days to keep the cold at bay.Stay warm~Sandi
I am also surrounded by stillness. Not even a bird. Just light.
Beautiful photo! I saw a red-headed woodpecker this morning also, outside our kitchen window. But we had full sun facing us and I could not take its picture.
How simply beautiful -- that red head against the snow. You are staying here this winter? Bundle up!
Awesome photos Anna. You know how I love birds. Love your sweet little titmouse header too. Does he really take the peanuts? Anna, you made me feel so wonderfully happy with your comment. THANK YOU! xoxo
I forgot to tell you. It's 81 degrees here today. :)
I got a bit of the white stuff yesterday. Had to drive in it though but made it through the Winter wonderland. Now, it's gone and rainy but it was nice to enjoy for those moments.
I am back here, reconnecting :-)What a lovely post.
Beautiful photos! I love the Pileated! Great shot!

Beautiful to enjoy the quiet cozy moments of winter. Good luck on your check up, hope it all goes well for you.
