By Request

"In any given moment of not feeling well, choose thoughts
of healing and feeling good!"
Dr. Wayne Dyer

distraction from worries and stresses
is the best way of feeling good and for me what
better way than gardening!
Getting down on my knees digging, pulling and weeding
gets more difficult as osteo arthritis sets in so I call upon
the master gardener Natureboy!
My job is the planning, the designing, the dreaming and
choosing of plants while he the master does the grunt work

"Gardening, reading about gardening, and writing about
gardening are all one; no one can garden alone."
Elizabeth Lawrence
::
My friend Lisa requested that I post photos of my
woodland garden.
This one's for you TWT!
Top: left to right ...sculptured ball with a pattern of Oak leaves
my latest find!
Vignette of planters with black and chartreuse petunias.
Centre: Here I dug out poison ivy last summer and got a horrendous
reaction. Plans for a hosta garden..more pics later in the season.
A perennial shade garden just planted under a canopy of oak trees.
Bottom:Wild ferns, flowering perennials, a pathway of wood chips and
logs to prevent stepping on poison ivy. We have several of these
pathways throughout the garden...all leading somewhere.
I hope you enjoyed this sneek peek of  my  our woodland garden.
More to show you as the garden matures during the weeks ahead!
Happy gardening!
hugs

Hostas are shade lovers, yes? I must get one and see if I can actually keep is alive. Perhaps among the succulents I'm babying, it will thrive.

Yes Annie. Hostas do quite well in the shade. I went to a Hosta farm with over 100 varieties..all planted in gardens..I will go again and take photos and of course purchase MORE!!
Thanks for commenting! xo

It is beautiful! So very serene! The chipmunks did a number on my mom's hostas this year. Not nice at all. I'm glad you have Natureboy to do all the grunt work!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a wonderful way to start my morning. I'm in LOVE with your garden Miss Anna. It looks like an amazing restorative, magical retreat. I know you will create a fantasy world back there for your grandchildren. Your planters are STUNNING. Love the combination of vivid yellow/green shades. Never seen such interesting petunias. You have inspired me to be more creative. Love ya, TWT

I don't suppose he hires out does he?! It's looking amazing. Rick and I both have hosta gardens and I love them because you practically have to do NOTHING to keep them going!

I still haven't ruled out a road trip to your neck of the woods this summer of fall -- maybe I could see your garden in person!

Jeanie: Natureboy does charity work for the neigbors who need assistance in their gardens..certainly he would be a helping hand to you!We are trying to work with Mother Nature in creating a maintance free garden. The woods surround the garden we allow the freedom of natural beauty to enhance the prepared gardens.WE have even created a veggie/herb garden at the back of our property line where sun shines all day!!!
If ever in my neck of the woods I would be more than happy to take you for a tour of my garden!!

My husband and I garden together too. I do the planning and seed gathering and he does the digging and weeding. I still can harvest! Just finished the lavender harvest! I love your woodland gardens...
Always delightful to catch up with you.
I am collecting pots for more container gardening. As I age being on the knees gets harder....I found another wind sculpture! There are lots of ways of letting the soils heal our aching hearts. You are finding yours!

Just lovely. My husband is the gardener in our family - mostly veggies. I love flowers but don't do well with them.
