Sportspal

Wee Lake our own private oasis, a quiet place
shared by the neighbors
only a stone's throw from our house.
A leisurely paddle  towards the centre of  the lake
leaving ripples on the water.

Husbands latest boy toy a Sporstpal canoe.
Paddled out to the deep end of the lake with
daughter and wee grandson for his
first time ever canoe ride and fishing lesson!
(Next image taken from behind the trees in background)

Ausable River  which flows into Lake Huron
located behind the trees along Wee Lake.
To fully appreciate the raw beauty of the river,
one must venture into the rugged interior by canoe.
ME on a canoe!!!
After capsizing on the Russian River in California..
NO WAY...NOT!!

Sportspal Canoes are made from Aircraft Grade aluminum
which is then stretch-formed, heat treated and hardened.
Lined with ethafoam (closed cell polyethylene) so they
won't sink even if fully loaded with water.
Husband assures me that this canoe does NOT tip.
Unusual stability and safety make these canoes excellent
for family and scardey cats like me.
Lake Huron ahead !
Time to turn this canoe around  Natureboy!!

How utterly divine, what a priceless piece of heaven indeed.

I would never tire of such a place, and I would imagine neither will you...

I wish my canoe was that save. I like to stay where I can see the bottom.

How peaceful to canoe around the lake. I don't think I would be venturing out to Lake Huron though. We used to have a canoe and I loved it. You really should go out in it for a short while, you will love it.

Love the pink shoes! What a treat for your grandson -I take it he'll be fishing when he's 3 years old?

First off, love the 'smile' post below this too. Now, 'bout that canoe. I don't think I could be as brave as R. W. Emerson states with the quote you used. Me? Canoe? Don't fit. LOL

Great photos. Love the one with the shoes. Hey, I just thought of something tho...great exercising with paddling a canoe!!!

Thanks for the visit. You're going to AZ? What parts? I used to live in Tucson.

I wonder if that's you with the pink tennis shoes... maybe your fears have been conquered already.
What a beautiful place. Canoeing is a great way to see the lake and surroundings.

So very beautiful Anna.....and your darling Grandson taking his first trip in a canoe, brought back such fond memories of trips with my Grandchildren. I know you tresure these moments.

I have always tried to look fear in the face. You are one of the strogest people I know, so I feel you will learn to love this canoe and get much pleasure from your trips in her......

Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you my friend, you deserve it.

That's my kind of canoe, the one that does not sink! Haha!

What a lovely shot with those legs resting comfortably, while the other paddles!

One lucky family living close to nature.
