A time of looking forward..
onwards not backwards is the way to go.
As you face daily responsibilities and challenges,
allow yourself to feel love, joy, hope and

Merry Christmas

"Christmas is forever not for just one day
For loving sharing giving are not to put away
Like bells and lights and tinsel
in some box upon the shelf
The good you do for others is the good
you do yourself "
Norman W. Brooks

With the light of love filling my heart on this
Christmas Day
I wish you a Merry Christmas
May the spirit of the holiday season be with you
throughout the coming New Year
blessings and hugs to you

Goodbye To Winter

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that
within me there lay an invincible summer!"
Albert Camus
boughs of pine heaped with snow
empty birdhouse with only the company of
winter snow

chairs beneath a blanket of snow

Memorable moments capturing some of winters magic
brings a somewhat somber feeling as I say:
~goodbye Winter 2010!~
All week I have shared photos of
Winter's magic
a season hushed into a solemn quiet.
A season that begins mid November to April. A long winter
with colorless skies as seen in my previous posts.
With grey sunless skies lasting half a calender year..
not to mention the frightful cold temperatures..
natureboy and I and two kitty cats head for the
desert and mountains of
sunny Arizona!
We are driving only way to travel with precious cargo
Ms. Paisley and Ms. Babie
We've travelled through the states of Michigan & Indianapolis
and are now in Joplin Missouri.
Tomorrow we head for Texas!
No snow here!
Happy Trails!

Winter Sky

tree frozen and leafless
silhouetted against a colorless winter sky

"There is a sense of silent awe of wonderment and peace
as all the earth lies quiet and still
beneath its icy fleece"
Kathleen Gillum

As snow accumulates a winter wonderland appears!

Snowed In

purity of whiteness

With continuous falling snow
red headed Woodpecker braves the bitter winds
and provides me with a bit of color in an otherwise
extreme white world!
~
My world is buried under drifting snow.
We are snowed in!
Major highways are closed & under a state of emergency!
Cars and trucks are abandoned with more than
500 stranded motorists taken to warm centres!
With much exuberance I'm packing for our road trip just 3 days away!
Time to fly away and warm up the chill in my bones.
Where to you wonder..
soon dear friends soon I'll show you!

Silent Snow

"Just as the silent snow settles in
covering rough edges and filling empty spaces
So may peace settle upon our lives
and wrap us in beauty"
~
Although it is difficult to trudge through the snow I delight
in the short opportunity I have to capture the
scenic beauty of winter..
how the snow highlights the individual sculpted shapes
in my garden!
~
4 more days until winter ends!!
How can that be you wonder..
stop by each day this week and I'll
show and tell you!
Many who frequent my blog know already!
I feel extremely blessed

Winter White

" Winter a lingering season, is a time
to gather golden moments,
embark upon a sentimental journey..
..and enjoy every idle hour."
John Boswell

In the depth of winter snowstorms there is a magical
quality to the snow covered woods, lake, and river.
My world is hushed by silence as it becomes
Winter white!

Winter Scene

Snow capped
the simplicity and beauty of Winter
I've arrived home to my whispering Oaks
to find my Wee Lake
in a perfect winter scene

I had embarked on a quest to take winter scene
photos and along the way
I met a new friend!
