My abiding appreciation to the ready generosity of
the circle of friends
I've gained in this caring community of bloggers

and cheer me on with your comments, cards, gifts, emails, poetry,
prayer and healing circles.
I feel enormously supported and blessed!

They pull and tug until the windows pop open and
fresh new breezes fill our musty hearts."

Compassion Brings Peace

"No act of kindness no matter how small
is ever wasted. "
Aesop
The night so dark and bitter cold. A barking dog pierced
the sound of silence interrupting my sleep. I got up from
beneath my warm blankets and look out the window into
the darkness as the uninvited intruder continues its fierce
barking! The sound both haunting and chilling, I knew this
was a situation of predator and prey.
Throwing a coat over my nightgown braving the cold darkness
I knew that I had to investigate!
Fearless I ran to the front of my house and saw
*the image above.
Two terrified raccoons perched high on top leafless branches
and facing the teeth and growls of this giant predator..
a golden retriever!

Poor raccoons, braving the trials of life's darker moments.
Living things hunt and are hunted.
With the aid of my husband we were able to contain the dog
inside our garage and calm it down while waiting for the
humane society to transport the dog
to a safe overnight stay.
Walking back to the house now 3 a.m.we looked in the direction
of the tree, the raccoons were gone escaped unharmed..
or did they?
I notice blood stains on the branches..

Compassion for all living things brings humankind peace.

Say It With Flowers

one rose
feelings expressed .. wordless
but touches me at the deepest level

She understands all the terrible fears shivering through me
when I'm most vulnerable.
She knows when to push and when to hold back sharing in
my tears and offering comfort.
She functions from the heart.
She makes room for me in her busy life providing support as I
limp through this life challenge with cancer.
She's attentive to my tired spirit responding to my emotional
needs in helping to clarify my thinking when it gets
muddled when my body is exhausted from chemo effects.
I am forever grateful to my dear friend Lisa.
I cherish your incredible loving gift of friendship not only to me
but to my dearest husband!
Thank you for this rose. Given to me
when she drove me home from my latest chemo treatment.
:: Lisa does not have her own blog but
always stops by as an anonymous comment

I joined the TODAY'S FLOWER meme
so that my friend Lisa
could have a place to come weekly to admire
the beauty and language of flowers during the harsh winter months.

Healing Energy

"Love cures people both the ones who give it and
the ones who receive it"
Karl Menninger
::
I continue to move forward on my healing journey with
emphasis on a path of inner piece. I stay focused on my inner
strengths in taking control of my thoughts as treatment and
side effects can have an intimidating effect on the body mind and spirit.
Last week due to symptoms which I experienced, it was necessary to
have a 2 hour infusion to balance my blood chemistry and have
another 6 hour round of chemotherapy.
I have met with the surgeon and surgery to remove spleen scheduled
in January.
In between treatment it is necessary to allow my body the time to rest
to facilitate my healing.
Long periods at the computer leave me tired and exhausted so I find
it necessary to set limits so I do not get overly fatigued.
~~
I am deeply grateful in having a close circle of blog supporters,
intimate family, and caring friends regularly stopping by.
All of you add a precious source of emotional nourishment and energy
to my fighting spirit!
love and light
