Mystery of Nature

Today's Flower
an interesting natural photographic subject
Not a flower but a mysterious plant..
lacking chlorophyl relying on organic matter for nutrition..
living off decaying wood chips breaking down organic
matter into useful nutrients for the garden soil.

early morning tiny shoots bursting into life appear
pushing up towards the light..

a cluster of transparent umberellas..
I like to think it was a gathering of dancing fairies
who left their little silvery umberellas which kept the
dewdrops off their wings!

when the sun appears..
quickly they fold up and disappear!

These remind me of those little paper umbrellas that are served up with drinks.Maybe these are what the fairies use in their drinks. :)

What an unusual little mushroom. I am imagining an outside room for fairies to dance within.

Very interesting and mysterious indeed. Thank you for sharing.

How beautiful! If they were under water I would say they were some sort of interesting sea creature instead of a very pretty fungi.

I'm still smiling and thanking God.

I have come across similar ghosts here. They are fascinating and strange. Your photos are wonderful.

Hello Anna,
the fungi in your pictures belong to the group of small, fragile gilled mushrooms, almost like the Japanese Umbrella Inky or Coprinus. Lovely pictures!!
I have read your earlier posts.
"Kopf hoch" and take care!!

I am thinking about you,
Gisela

Love the image of dancing fairies with silvery umbrellas -- leave it to you to find such interesting plant material and an equally interesting story to go with it. Is this hiding in your garden? TWT

Anna, what a delightful post! The happy dancers of the night that, like the stars, shun the sun.

I do hope all is well, I keep you covered anyway.

Isn't that neat!! I haven't seen that before or if I have, I really haven't paid particular attention to it... I will now. A really good post indeed.

I see you have already said that it is a fungus - either that or you are very clever with Photoshop!

What delicate dance of umbrella fungi! I wonder what sound they would make if we could hide underneath hese during the rain....

Anna, The photo of the single mushroom was lovely but the multiples was even better! I love how they appear and then quickly disappear....adding to their mystery. I continue to hold you in my thoughts! gail

Dear Anna... I thought of you today.... and was impressed to send you this:

Prayer in a Garden

Today the world seemed cruel, but evening hours
Were filled with perfume from forgotten flowers.
I saw again familiar filigree
Of moonlight through my lacy Lilac tree;
I heard the robins stirring in their nest;
And saw the path that fairy feet had pressed;
Reflected stars were in my garden pool;
On my warm face the breeze was kind and cool.
The silence seemed to speak, my head was bowed,
Then ramblers that had grown into a cloud
Lifted my eyes that, tear-washed, now could see
The beauty that today was lost to me.
Dear god, who is so near to flowers, and birds,
Be nearer still, as I shall search for words
To thank Thee for the blessings night revealed,
Which through the day discouragement concealed.

You are in HIs hands...

Much love

Real neat stuff!! Truly something that interests me. Mysteries are always fascinating.
BTW! I have been following this another thing I came across. It’s sort of abstract and interesting. It’s something to do with some Legend
By the way, good writing style. I'd love to read more on similar topics

Yes, our cats give us security and peace. Your photos of your sweet cat are incredibly beautiful.
Unfortunately, I had in the past few weeks, little time to visit all all my dear blogging-friends. The profession, house and garden are very demanding at the time. But, I have you not forgotten, dear Anna.
Hugs & kisses, Birgit
