The moon is high a sure sign that the sun is setting in the desert of Arizona.
The best sunsets I'm told occur when there are at least
a few high clouds. Bright reds and oranges are filtered
through at the cloud's level.
The moon appears so large that I feel I can reach outand touch it!
This night I was late in capturing the sunsetting..
by the time I walked to the west location it was over.
I have many opportunities to capture the magnificant sunsets
while vacationing in Scottsdale in the coming weeks.

I love Dale Chihuly art! I had a friend who knew him personally, but died of cancer a few years ago. He had been given several exquisite pieces of art by Dale before he died... gave them for charity. Wonderful artiste extraordinaire, and wonderful photos. The art fits into the landscape like a hand in glove. Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful collection of shots here! Love the clouds on the horizon! The moon got passionately red last night from what I heard, but I missed it. I am fascinated by the moon. Your perspective on the terrain shot is terrific!
I've never seen Chihuly's work, only photos, but I believe he must be the most talented sculpture.
Maybe the dry air in Arizona makes the moon look closer.

Glad you are having a good time and your photos convince me that even though I didn't make it to AZ this spring, it's definitely somewhere I want to visit. I hope also you are finding the trip enjoyable and that reminders/memories of your mom bring more happiness than sadness.

The top photo is really a marvellous view !! And I thought the yellow things were natural untill I read about the art creations, nice : they fit so well in the environment.
Oh my, those skies are stunning and your photos just beautiful. Arizona is a place I love to visit but don't get the chance to see but rarely. I would love to visit in the spring.
