Parisian Skies

My entry for Sky Watch Friday..
I vacationed in Paris for a week in August..
always looking at blue skies
Eiffel Tower
Parisians have always called the monument..
"the Iron Lady"
*fact: construction began on July 1 /1887 and the tower
was inaugurated on May15/1889

River Seine
strolls along the river is a preferred spot for Parisians
tourists and artists as it offers exceptional views of
it's many historical buildings along the banks.

Versailles
the grand palace to Louis XIV who chose to abandon
Paris and transform Versailles into his royal palace...
located outside Paris, about 20 kilometers
I toured this opulent palace and it was the
elegant striking artistic gardens that impressed me
and took my breath away.
I promised you that follow my blog that I would show
and tell more about this visit to Versailles and I will..
SOON!
Keep in touch

Milkweed

"If facts are the seeds that later produce
knowledge and wisdom..
then the emotions and the impressions of the senses
are the fertile soil which the seeds must grow."
Rachel Carson

~Milkweed seedpods~
Captivated by its tufts of silky seed pods..
I watch as the Autumn breezes
toss them about.
*ENLARGE to see the ever so light silky hairs!

Found in fields woodland borders and
along roadsides, the milkweed is most important for being the
major host of the monarch butterfly.

In My Garden

The Autumn sun blazes through foliage of the
Climbing Hydrangea
casting shadows as soft breezes blow on this warm
gorgeous day!
The autumnal rains are forcasted with a drop
in temperatures but for now I enjoy..

~tea roses and fairy patio roses~
my blushingly fresh fragrant roses; hardy and tough
withstanding the cooler temperatures at night..
still blooming!

~pee gee hydrangeas ~
always add harmonious color to my autumn designs

"Nature does not hurry yet everything
is accomplished"

Lao Tzu
Humm... shall I pick these or do I have time before
the first frost

I should have just nibbled instead of overindulging
while giving thanks at our Thanksgiving feasts!

~ my Paisley girl~
Today is a day to cuddle and rest or perhaps..

I will be the girl in the garden
(this bronze statue located in a garden in Germany..
one of my many stops when I toured Europe in August)

There is much to take stock of now that the
crisp snap of Autumn is here
but today I'll sit in my garden and rest and enjoy
before the frost appears..

*P.S. I cannot believe I am posting # 401!
Whew!.. no wonder I need a rest!
With each post I am meeting so many wonderful bloggers..
thank you to all for following my journey
hugs naturegirl xo

A Grateful Thanksgiving

Let us be thankful that there still is sunshine..

that we still can glimpse the blue of the sky..

and on our onward way continue to look around us..

let us be thankful for friends..

with kindly smiles and cheerful words.

This is a time for grateful thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving has become a harvest-related celebration
which is marked by bountiful dinners and family gatherings.
To all my Canadian friends enjoy your
Thanksgiving weekend
with your family
and take the time to stroll outdoors
where the wondrous world of Autumn beauty awaits you!
The above dahlias, zinnia and rose captured yesterday
as I took an afternoon stroll

Keep It Clean

~River of hope~
"A nation that fails to plan intelligently for the
development and protection of its precious waters,
will be condemned to wither because of its shortsightedness.
The hard lessons of history are clear,
written on the deserted sands and ruins
of once proud civilizations."
Lyndon B. Johnson

~Wetlands~
Water so precious..the basis for all life on this planet..
keep it clean for ourselves, for all living things
and especially for the Earth!
My early morning photo shoot brought me to these
locations and I was filled with emotion as I
witnessed the beauty of Mother Earth.

An Autumn Day

"We hail the merry autumn days when leaves are
turning red..

..because they're far more beautiful than
anyone has said."
Charles Dickens
I think of poetry when I shoot images such
as these!

We visited friends over the weekend in northern Ontario
who are blessed to live on
this Lake Nepahwin with the cottage view all year round!
I took my camera out on an early morning photo shoot..
I was standing on their patio deck.

Seasonal Offerings

seasonal offerings and inspiration..

Table filled with a gathering of seasonal offerings!
While in Germany a few weeks ago I strolled
through an open air market filled with inspiration!

Is your front door in need of
some seasonal cheer?

Rich jewel tone hydrangeas..
always leave a lasting impression on me!
~
Enjoy your weekend gathering seasonal offerings!
