Though I cling tenaciously to any
summer weather that
at times may linger because we have had such
unusually warm daytime temperatures...
there is no denying that
fall and it's cooler nights
is upon us
~Yesterday I harvest lavender roses and hydrangeas~
for the last time
ENLARGE all photos to truly appreciate color!

the garden still shows an abundance of summer
color however
it is time to prepare it for
it's long winter sleep...
harvesting the last of
*my lavender and
rosesemptying the
pots of annuals..another gardening season has ended
*Munstead..my 4th harvest this season!
~fairy flowers~
because of their abundance of dazzling little flowers
the
nemesiais easy to grow and come in a variety of colors!
the Maple and cherry treesin background have NOT yet changed into
their mosaic of autumn color..
the
potted annuals I have lifted out
and placed into compost bags..
a sense of melancholy comes over me but..
I know everything in life
has its' cycles and its' season
Annabelle hydrangeas have been affected by
the colder night air turning a rust and brown color
in spots..
I was NOT able physically to harvest them
at the time when they turned that striking green
color so I cut a few stems and will come
up with some creative way to display indoors
perhaps spray paint gold or pale pink
for Christmas decorating!
the last timebundles of aromatic lavenderare drying in the kitchen~You have come from everywhere to help to comfort me every comment every word of encouragement.. every birthday greeting sent by electronic cards and emails, and every prayer have truly contributed to my overall feeling of Joy encouragement and wellness! I am told that I will not completely heal for another month so in the meantime *I take strength from the love surrounding me in friendships family and my 2 precious cats always at my side!
