Beyond the Garden Gate

Walk through the formal entry to my garden and I'll show you
a few plants that surround my home.
In the last few posts you have seen plants and
color that reflect my sense of style.
I'll take you through the different areas of my garden in the
next few posts but today...
~glance beyond the garden gate~

Pink ~cosmos and portulaca~
layer the ground to the left of the arbor in 1st photo

Walk through the gate fragrance greets you...
~roses lilies and lavender~ used as edging
gives this entry the sweetest scent!
on fence ~White Dawn climbing rose~ and on the left
along the house pink~ Fairy Patio bush roses~
Almost fully crowning the arbor ~Clematis Henry~
*click here to see
~pink impatiens~ used as ground cover on right shaded side
*I have to admit I cannot remember planting the yellow Asiatic lily seen above
* featured in last post! Perhaps the faeries or birds did..

planted are Casablanca and Stargazer that have yet to bloom!
*ENLARGE PHOTO FOR A CLOSER LOOK.. TAKEN FROM A SECOND FLOOR WINDOW

~Tea Roses~
the fabric that brings color comfort and luxury
to this garden space!
I have cut back all roses as seen in previous photo
and now the second burst is about to bloom!

~pink double impatiens~
low maintenance and resemble mini roses bloom as long
as the days are warm!
Carefully chosen objects underpin the many moods and feelings
of the different parts of my garden.
This bunny begins the ~bunny trail~ a whimsical walk
through the garden loved by visiting children and of course me!

~comos and portulaca~ at the garden gate
My grandchildren from Arizona are visiting me escaping from
temperatures of 117F!!
We have also been experiencing exceptionally high temperatures..
the month of June was the driest on record in over 15 years!
It has been a challenge keeping the garden watered..we've only had
a slight rainfall last week.
Temperature today expected 35C that would be over 90F!!
With 30SPF lotion we will be hopping up and down the bunny trail
and hiding amongst the secret garden!
*Next post a peek at a NEW addition to the garden!
~~~
In recent posts there have been many NEW visitors commenting and I'd like to
extend a warm welcome to you!
Some have admitted that you have been visiting here
for some time so I thank you for taking the time to place a comment.
You have given me the opportunity to meet you and greet and visit your blogs!
In doing so we inspire and motivate each other!
To my regular visitors. buddies. star sisters. kindred spirits. friends..
I truly appreciate your stopping by and supporting me and inspiring me
with your kind words and wisdom!
Hugging you all naturegirl
Your entrance is really beautiful! I just love all the pink flowers, roses and lavender. Maybe a bird planted the yellow lily but I’ve planted lilies turning up in another colour. :) And pink double impatiens, I think I have to plant it next year. Hugs, from Karin!
Thanks for the inspiration NG, I have let my garden go for too long and it is hard, dirty work whipping it back in shape, your garden was a delightful treat as I sit down to take a break from all that mudslinging, "the gardening kind!"
my garden is 'resting' now - I love all seasons of the garden & to take a wander through yours was delightful, especially on this wet & cold day in Australia.... I am in the middle of planning a few more gardens for spring time & my potatoes are to arrive this week.
bright blessings !
I love the pink cosmos. I can almost smell the wonderful fragrance as we walk under the arbor. Thank you for the tour.
I absolutely am in LOVE with your garden!!! It's just perfect, really. Just the right everything.
I'm wondering about what you're calling potentilla. I see moss roses or portulaca (I just love saying that word!) Maybe that's what you meant? I have potentilla, and the foliage is quite different from that.
In any case, it's gorgeous with the pink cosmos!!
I could not be more thrilled at this tantalizing view of your garden entrance. It is even more glorious than I imagined and the beautiful surrounding flora is perfection. I want so badly to hop down that bunny trail and perhaps catch a glimpse of a fairy or two. I look forward with a great deal of joy to seeing more and more - and I thank you so very much for sharing this.
My backyard wants to be yours when it grows up!
XOXO
Love and hugs,
Lisa
Fourth picture from the top is especially nice. The perspective of the roses has them laid out like a path to the gate. Nature playing tricks on our eyes and you caught it.
I really love the upstairs view of your garden entry NG. It gives a whole new perspective. I can't believe you are already getting a second flush of roses. Mine are pretty well done and not looking like they will be giving me more any time soon. Fairy dust is in your hands, that's all I have to say. Hugs and missing you TWT
Oh NG, I'd so much love to walk though that garden gate and enter your garden! It looks soooo welcoming!
BTW, I cut my first lavender yesterday and I have a wonderful idea what to do with the crop! - I just need a creative moment to get started....
Have a wonderful new week!
Wow. What a series of nice photos and a beautiful garden.
I came to thank you for visiting my blog. I was pleased to note the TLC comment. I wonder what TLC means? On television it means The Learning Channel. Surely my pictures are not there.
LOL
Thanks again.
pink, pink and more pink. I can never get enough of the color pink. Just last night I picked a bouquet of pink cosmos and a bouquet yellow and white roses ( waiting for my next batch of pink). Your garden gate looks very inviting. I know what your new addition to the garden is but I won't tell anyone (wink).
Just so gorgeous! I love that gate with the window. Your entrance is really beautiful. So are all your flowers. I bet it's been a challenge to keep everything watered! I don't have half the amount of plants you do and it takes me hours (we're on water restrictions). Thanks for the tour!
The entrance to your garden is lovely, my dear! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your garden. Those same little fairies reside in my garden, too! I'm loving those double impatiens and making a note in my garden journal so I don't forget them next year. ♥
What a beautiful garden you have- starting at the gorgeous entry. Cosmos are all through our little English Cottage Garden & one of my favourite plants. The seeds were gathered on a trip to the Muskokas years ago & we scattered them haphazardly throughout when we arrived home :-} I'm looking forward to seeing the "latest" addition to your garden.
Enjoy your time with your sweet grandchildren
