Lasting Impression

The lilac leaves a lasting impression on me
I cannot get enough!
It's luscious fragrance surrounds me!

She greets me as I come home so pleasing to my eyes
her scent so sweet!

*The Lilac my favorite spring blossom!
Some have commented that your lilac season is over..
my lilacs are the star attraction in the garden today!
*P.S. the white lilacs were in bloom weeks ago due to a different exposure

Look what is ready to burst into bloom!
We had a late Spring so bloom schedules are late but I don't mind
I will enjoy my lilacs and allow them to
leave a lasting impression.

"We are all of ~the garden variety~..ordinarily extraordinary!
Bloom away!"

I share your love of lilacs. They always remind me of my grandparents garden where there were a lot of lilacs in flower every spring. And as a little girl I was allowed to pick the biggest bunch I could hold in my little hands. Happy days!

Thanks for the lovely pics!

Hello Naturegirl! Regarding your comment on my blog, if you have any coral bells (heuchera) to get rid of, you know you can always pass them along to me. :-)

Your lilacs are lovely. We had one at our old house, but I didn't plant one here. I love to drive around the countryside at this time of year and see them blooming everywhere.

I love Lilacs too.My Nans twin Hazel told me I used to stand in her garden sniffing the lilac tree flowers.I dont remember that so i must have been young.I love the lilac tree flowers, and scent.I bought one finally but its been left in Castleford. It has flowered this year for the first time.
My first new shrub will be a Syringa when i get a garden. So i can enjoy standing in front of the lilac flowers!
Do you use them for cut flowers too?A bunch can fragrance a whole room for a week I read :)

I love lilacs, but I especially "heart" peonies! Ours are long gone here, though. Some of the later blooming lilacs have a few bloom spikes left.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Our Lilac are all finished now - they were wonderful while they lasted - our peony are at the same bud stage as yours though ... something to look forward to :-}

This took me back a few years. Lilacs need to have cold winter temperatures so I can't grow them in this climate. But i do love them so much. I have to buy the soap and the sprays which is not the same.

Look at those peonies!! I do love lilacs, but oh how I just adore peonies!! Unfortunately the lilacs have already bloomed here, but I did enjoy them filling the house and garden breeze with their heavenly scent!

I sooo love lilacs! For some reason they don't survive in my yard, but my mother had some beautiful ones while I was growing up. And the peonies... can't wait to see those, too! Hope you show photos! =)

Lovely blooms - I especially like that pinkish one. Sadly, my lilacs are just past...

My 'pinks' are currently blooming however, and smell of sweet-spicy nutmeg. :-)

NG your lilacs look spectacular and I can still remeber the scent when mine bloomed a few weeks ago! Love the pictures with your white iron furnitures so beautiful oh and the peony blossoms are so promising, aren't they? Spring, what a beautiful time of the year, although it's already over in my part of the world. I just came in from cutting boxwood hedges and my fingers and back are hurting now. Have a beauiful new week in your garden! Hugs carol xox
